Public Health Project Manager, Cape Town
Job description
The Public Health Project Manager will support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs in several countries. This role requires a proactive thinker with experience in public health programs, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate has a background in public health, project management and a passion for making a tangible impact on community health outcomes.
Key responsabilities
Program Management:

Assist the design, implementation, and evaluation of public health projects in African Countries.

Help develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial accountability.

Support the tracking of project performance and outcomes, using data to assist in continuous improvement efforts.
Planning:

Contribute to the development of implementation plans and initiatives to advance the partners’ public health goals.

Identify opportunities for project expansion.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Co-lead workshops with different stakeholders in African Countries to start new projects

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and funders.

Support the representation of EPCON at public health forums, conferences, and meetings.
Team Leadership:

Work closely with the team and other public health professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Provide administrative and logistical support for project-related tasks.
Communication:

Support in development and deliver presentations, intermediate and yearly reports to communicate program advancements, achievements to country stakeholders and clients
Education level
An ideal candidate has a University degree in one of the following domains or a combination thereof:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Administration, or a related field.

3 to 5 years of experience in public health projects

Experience in time and budget management.

Understanding of public health principles and practices.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships.

Knowledge of the French language is a plus.
